Market Outlook and Competition: The only local competition is a small, independently owned grocery and deli about one mile away. There is no local competition for the smoked and prepared meat items produced in-house. The owner feels that the company should remain specialized and not attempt to compete with the major food chains. The smoked and prepared meats continue to be the most requested items in the store and should be expanded. Due to popular demand, a seafood section was briefly added to the store's product line. Although enormously popular, the current owner didn't feel that he had the product knowledge to properly maintain that department.
